I plugged my P1i into my laptop via the USB cable last night and it said device malfunctioned, not recognized by computer. I tried on my main pc and it was fine. Went to the laptop again and the same thing happened, my usb ports don't seem to like it. Is this a fault with my laptop or are others experiencing the same thing with their P1s?

@sunking101; I have noticed that my w950i as well as some other USB devices do that. What operating system are you using on your laptop and your main PC?

Windows XP with SP2 on both computers. So they are identical in that respect. My laptop is a VAIO and my main pc a DELL.

To my compaint about the quality of the P1i pictures, after a number of iterations, SE have now asked me to update my firmware. Any one know if there is actually a new firmware?

SE were interested in the Phone firmware; mine is CXC 162037 R9G007.

Unfortunately it sounds like you have spoken to someone who hasnt got a clue as the phone firmware is irrelevant, its all about Organiser firmware... The Organiser firmware is what would contain improvements to the Camera...

Mine is currently - CXC162108 R6D23

Hello from a newbie!!
anyway, sorry to bring up old questions,
but I also have the problem with the sms timestamps. everytime I receive an sms or if i send one to myself from rogers website, it always display the time 4 hours behind.
I tried setting my time 4 hours early and switch my city to azores (apparently they are 4 hours ahead of eastern time), the sms timestamps will come in alright (but of course I want to display my time zone as Eastern time instead of Azores time)
Anyone have any input on this?
Thx!!

PS: I'm in Toronto btw

I switched on my phone this morning and there was a yellow envelope icon with a red line through it on the top left of my screen. I looked in the manual what this was and it means that text messaging is disabled. I clicked on the icon and it said disabled because memory full! Memory wasn't full last night when I switched it off! I looked in the storage info and I have 3/4 of my memory available. Anyway, I switched the phone off & back on again and the icon had disappeared. So that's a bug then.
