It seems we may have discovered another UIQ mystery - ahem sorry - 'feature'....

Unfortunately with this new FW the Voice Control bug is there

. When Voice Control is activated you cannot see SIM contacts anymore. Then if you cancel Voice Control, restart the phone, still this issue remains. You have to do a Master Reset and then you gain control again over the SIM folder.

@marius2du
Perhaps this is why it asks you if youwant to transfer sim contacts to phone memory on firstboot...seems a terribly clunky workaround, but it does suggest that the programmers are aware of the issue.
@Pacm23
It could be a compatibilty issue, as the P1 only uses the /b version of wifi, whereas most modern routers are /g. I personally have no problems connecting to my home network as it is backwards compatible.

I had start up issues with the latest P1 firware and Blackberry Connect v4.82. I had transitions on and each time I tried to access the info or service tabs and the advanced page in BB Connect i got a crash and a dump of memory - error 3.
I have turned of tranisitons and low and behold the error no longer happens. Great - I could repeat the problem many times over and it always crashed.
What is the advanced lock code?? Do you have to get this right to get access to a new set of tabs in 4.82??
Black Berry works fine - wish I could reduce the font size..

Strange - no problems here with accessing the service or advanced page in BB connect while transitions set to on. The advanced lock code had been in all blackberry versions so far - but I don't know what kind of settings it hides.

*bows* (..I think I need to get out more... just one more rant...)

..I'm skeptical about that..
It seems there are or have been several problems with programs not functioning (not just functioning improperly) in some strange cases - where you have some contacts on the sim, and others on the phone. The same with duplicates for some reason. A guess might be saying that something happens when the program expects more input- fields than is there - perhaps only when the program makes lists of both phone- contacts and sim- contacts at the same time. So if you just use the phone- contacts, and don't use the sim- contacts at all, you won't notice..

So aren't we saying the same thing - that the issues don't arise if all your contacts are in the phone memory and the sim is blank?
And why, if there was no difference, does the phone give one the option to transfer the sim contacts as part of its' firstboot routine?

I updated yesterday to R9K009 and for the first time ever i have a problem synchronizing contacts with Microsoft Outlook. As soon as it starts a window appears which says "Runtime Error! Program...Files/Sony Ericsson/Mobile4/sync Manager dypsynccml.exe. This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in unusual way" I have the same problem both on my desktop (XP) and the laptop (Vista). Anybody any idea? thanks
