38k is MRP. nobody sells at MRP. Flipkart and high street stores may sell it for 36500/37000 or so. But smaller shops you could get it for 35.5k on Day 1.
Precisely what I hope

I havent bothered to keep up with the GS4 rumours, im just waiting for it to be unveiled, all ive heard is the usual 5.1inch HD1080P SAMOLED Flexible display, possibly a 128GB variant, and then further improvements to the Multi-view multitasking and pop-up play features.
Any word on what DAC the Xperia Z uses?
Also, have any benchmarks e.g. AnTuTu, been done? Would like to know how the S4 Pro SoC manages with the 1080P displays.
Found this on XDA. I believe it's still pre-release software though
Thanks
Early days indeed, some of those scores should double once the SW is fully optimized for the HW.

Z camera samples from Taiwan announcement.
Not the beast quality, my XS can do just as good.

karun & IndianDawg, very solid info regarding Z pricing & availability in India.
Availibility - March
Price - 34490 for retailers, so street price would be 35990 or 36490. MRP maybe 37990.

Hey RamU
36K seems to be a very good price for this phone. This will be the best pricing for XZ!!! But are you sure? All the international prices convert to ~43K. Do you think it will be that cheap in Indian Markets.
If Sony launches this phone under 37K, then there is no stopping Sony in becoming No. 1 in Indian Markets

Yes

And I will buy from Sony Center. They will get stocks first

You might have to find the most famous Sony Center for that. The Sony Center near my house didn't have Xperia S in stock for quite long time. And they usually sell the phones on MRP. For a discount you might want to check out a retailer.

It's nice and all that but for me it's all a little bit over kill 1080p screens on a phone. Battery life will be not that good with 1080p and 4G with a measly 2,400mAh battery. The smaller battery for the sake of being another thin phone. Too expensive too. I also don't know why you guys get so excited about Benchmarks. Who cares it means nothing in real world use. @doministry, nothing is innovative about Bravia Engine whatsoever. I have had many Sony phones and with it on or off there is NO difference at all when viewing images etc. And the X10 and X1 were both crap

There could be the option to disable 4G, like you can disable 3G.
HD Youtube vids look fantastic on the Xperia T. They'll look even better on the Z.

Well so forget Sony and sail on a different sea.
Saying X1 and X10 were crap is simply pathetic. What was crap were Samsung Omnias you know.
Whatever. I will not discuss it further since you can criticize or glorify anything in the end.
But Bravia is not a gimmick. I think you're just a bit blind
