So I caved in and decided to upgrade a month before the 'big guns' arrive (Note 4 & iPhone 6). Got myself a Black 1520 (wanted the Yellow one but our service providers just brought in the Black variant) and so far I know I made the right choice.Had Android now for a good couple of years (Xperia X10,Samsung Galaxy S2 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 2). Kinda had enough of it and just need a change. Had a 1520 phone update on Friday, one this morning telling me its a small update to make installing 8.1 easier and then the 8.1 update which I'm busy installing as we speak (sitting at 48%). Looking forward to having 8.1 on this phone. Let you know when its all done what I think of it.So far loving WP.Its a breath of fresh air and so pretty.Android and I will meet again but for now simplicity is what I'm looking for and WP brings that to my table.

Great choice Hobbs !! the 1520 is indeed a great phone and so much better with the 8.1 update your installing now.
WP is maturing very nicely and the GDR1 update due at the end of august will bring even more features to the table. Let us know how you're getting on with it when you've updated

I agree- I like mine a lot too, the only thing I don't like is the lack of some apps. Would be interesting to read what you think about it

Congrats again Hobbs!
Doubt I'll make the move to WP anytime soon, but will be interesting to see how you get on with it.

8.1 up and running. straight off the bat instinctively pulled down from the top of the screen (aka android notifications) and to my surprise theres the wp notification centre.thats most welcome indeed.also did the whole home+power button at the same time to take screenshot and was notified that something had change, its now power+vol up.Also most welcomed because I found the home+power button quite ridiculous.1 minute after updating, found two major changes in my favour so am keen to see what else there is.quite exciting playing around with something new.
