I've had the S10 and X1 for the day. No software update on the X1 and it looks really poor next to S10. Major issue with HDR blowing out everything, you can never see the sky or clouds. Video stability is terrible. This was in superior auto mode though but that's how I take photos.

The cinema video software is amazing, they should have done a photo software in the same format. The phone is brilliant otherwise but I'd give it a miss because the camera is so shit.

I gave in to temptations and bought the X1. Not sure if its because I was from the XZ, but boi am I so so impressed with the colours and beauty of the screen. Camera is fantastic for normal daily usage. Manual mode is still a bit weird, iso 100 and 30s shutter creates a very heavy grainy noisy pic but when you crank up the iso the noise..gets...reduced..somehow.

Congrats, my inclination would be to wait for the next generation model with multiple cameras because this first effort seems to have many software related problems and some have the green tint issue as well. The superior auto needs fixing, its the most frequently used mode especially if you're taking spur of the moment images.

Auto mode should do exposure stacking to give you clear skies, I've found it gives some fantastic results. The ultra wide in particular can look stunning.

I think that you need to compare side by side with the S10, no camera is utter crap but I was very disappointed when I saw it in comparison to the S10. I was completely shocked when I saw the video stabilisation, 4K had so much shake which seems like a step backwards.

Watch this video.

For the stabilization, there are people who said setting change to H265 will give much better stabilization.

The 4K stabilization maybe sucks but at Full HD the S10+ can't even compete, in good lighting condition most phone even with only EIS will look good and if you doesn't have any kind of stabilization you can use Google Photo to stabilize your video but in low light i never seen any phone with better stabilization than Xperia 1 just look at this video comparison with S10+

Yes but who would know about all of this unless they come to Esato? Also, if I buy a 4K phone there's no way I'm not going to take 4K videos. Sony needs to fix the software, period.

Sony more or less make the 4k video recording an unattractive option. Unbelievable how they let this go unnoticed before the release or just straight up were hoping for customers not care about the poor stabilization.
