True, had friends who couldn't wait for their phones, bought it abroad but had a hard time having it fixed because of the lack of a warranty. Besides, waiting a couple of weeks isn't too bad for peace of mind.

@dan47, well if did invest or put up a plant here (of course, that would help the economy) and it would be call to say "hey, that phone is made in the philippines.

other than that, what would it mean to the consumer? would it mean cheaper phones for us here?

for what its worth, mas abled ang pinoy engineers and laborers to produce quality work that can compete on the global markets just look how happy intel is with their plants. kaso nga lang nag karoon ng global crisis with the semicon industry... but it's picking the pace now....

The usual Asian regional head office of multinational firms is usually Singapore. Maybe that's why they chose Malaysia, more stable politically, plus it's a stones throw away from Sing.

Ang pinoy talagang mahuhusay, yun nga lng pati sa kalokohan ginagamit, agree, for example na lng, making a call for ur CP for less than 5 secs is considered a drop call so theres no charge, dami ko kakilala use that teknik instead of this 1 peso sms :-) This post was posted from a T68
