Hi, have only just been pointed in this thread's direction (thanks masseur!). Not irish, but've 'lived' here for 10+ yrs - and nowhere near Dublin (shoot me, but when I ph. Customer Service - any service - I'm actually pleased when I'm diverted to assoftheworld-istan... No offence, my native friends, but try getting anything useful in this country (exc.f. Dublin, maybe)... The manager of the local o2 store owns k750i, but didn't know u can really'surf the web' with a phone... He thought it's just a metaphor, or...
Anyway, Hi, and there'll be more from maggflodd (sorry for inter-rupturing this thread...)

Wow, I'm lonely here... Talking to me own! H E L L O...!?
Noticed o2 ireland's latest speakeasy 'upgrade'? Yes, they removed the only recent decent addition, the w550. Do they WANT customers to upgrade elsewhere? I recently re-ported to o2 with vf (yuck) k750i and o2 have not 1 real UP-grade handset, not even a fun-toy like w550... Oh MY!!! Pathetic! (Not as pathetic as blair's bush, but really).

but i was asking in another topic if you can turn the noise of the camera off on the K750i and they said i should ask here. im also interested in the w800i but still not that sure as to what differences there are between it and the K750i, if you could help me out it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Hi daboyo, not sure i can be off much help. W8oo came out in ireland a week after i bought k750... Price was a bit high but w800 came with more memory so in a way price was the same... Now though here in irel. K750 nearly 40pc cheaper than w800, and i have not heard of any major pros of w800 justifying a much higher price - so, if where u live similar price diff. diff., buy k750 and a nice big memory stick(you can download w800 theme to give it aWalkman phone look). But that's me and ireland, and i'm on prepay! Also, check reviews here- there's bound to be s.o. who's actually owned both models (i'm certain there's a thread just about k750 v. W800). Well, good luck + nice meeting s.o. Here...

You're welcome + (not knowing any of your 'circumstances'...) Maybe wait for k800 etc... A lot of great phone's coming soon, and even if too expensive, or not available for you, their release should bring down prices for both k750 and w800 even further.
Later...

Wow, haven't seen action on this thread for a while!

Your going to be waiting for the K800i for a while yet, especially if you want them on Pay as you go! Post pay - maybe next Autumn.

@Maggflodd, been reading a few of your comments from the past few days. The W550i has NOT been removed from the Speak Easy range, Its just impossible to get hold of at the mo. That unfortunately is SE fault. It happens with Oddball Sony Ericsson models all the time.

If your getting useless info from retailers then follow a simple rule...STOP going into main outlets, Ie Vodafone or O2 retail. I can tell you from experience, you don't ever get useful info from these places. Go to independent shops. These folks know their stuff.

In terms of getting help from Irish helplines, well, these lines are useless everywhere, be it an O2 ireland help desk in Dublin or a Hutchinson 3G help centre in India. Its not just Ireland mate!

ANywho, maybe this thread might get a revival:)
