Agreed, the turkish constitution garantees the separation between state and religion. But for how much time? The most influencal party now is of islamic strict obedience. And if they get a majority, who can be sure that the turkish constitution will not be changed?
What if this happens just when Turkey has been approved as a EU member?
i think long way for turkey to get to eu.a reason is maybe this one.btw eu looks like comunity of christianity so far.

I would disagree with the analysis that the EU is a Christian organisation, it just so happens that it's members are predominantly Christian nations. Thankfully the EU does not enshrine any one religion above another, and hopefully it never will.

@boto43
Your post implied that the EU operates on Christian practices when in fact it isn't a religious body at all. I think that the seperation of Church and State is very important and I would hate to see the EU become as dominated by religion as the U.S. is.

Hey ppl! What about common language in EU super state. I would suggest German one. Why? It's the most spread language in Europe and mainly in central Europe almost everyone can understand. @ scot and sammy You must study German. Sorry I'm just kidding to you. :-)

Ich bin ein Esatoer!
Ich glaube, daß Englisch bereits auf als die Standardsprache von Europa von der Europäischen Kommission entschieden worden ist.
