well the link above works and the country shown is United Kingdom! so it works! when i get home i'll give it a try. anyone knows if the update service works with the unlicking cable(usb or serial) instead of the SyncStation?

it worked!
after 4 tries getting the error message that the phone could not be connected and that i had to remove the battery and reinstall it again, it actually upgraded the phone. after my fourth try it showed the error message again, so i thought i still had the R3B software, then when i checked my contacts...the bug was gone...i can search for contacts by typing the name i wanted to so i checked my firmware and there it was: R3K. ive noticed that the menu is alot faster and that browsing of thumbnail pics was smoother, however some thumbnails wouldn't still show up. what are the noted changes anyways?
hope it could work for you guys without any problems...

thank god se finally decided to provide s700 users with the update service, since we can't find any sfa files to upgrade the s700 for free using unlocking software. can't wait for my dss-25 to arrive!
