@ThreeX, am I right in saying its the flex that has the customisation, in your case vodafone and in my case unbranded?
seems like we have the same firmware version but I still don't have the 3D phonebook that you mentioned you have (I'd just like to see it:-) )

Yes it would seem that the flex is the equivalent of the GDFS file in \ and SE phones
Since there is no branding whatsoever on mine, i guess the difference lies in the language pack and maybe the infamous 3-D phonebook
(which btw, STILL is utterly worthless except for a slight novelty value

)
EDIT: If i ever find a way of fishing the 3-D phonebook out of the phone, i will gladly send it to you both, it should be possible since AFAIK itīs a java app..

motorola have some cheek...v3 is essentially the same as the v600 but in a different body!!! when somebody asked me at work, for a demo of this handset, i gave it to them, and five minutes later, he handed it back, stating that its the v600 with a couple of add ons...and thats exactly what it is...and the sim free price??? my god!!!! motorola are intent on ripping people off aren't they!!! unbelievable.....

you're not saying anything that hasn't been said many times before.
However, I never even considered buying the V600 once before so Motorola are clearly doing something right for me, and others, if they have now made a version with similar features but with styling that appeals to me therefore making sales they would otherwise not have.
As for cost, the V3 certainly does incur more production costs apparantly. I saw figures from Motorola which went someway to justify the extra cost and of course it was quite high at the start because of the novelty value, but its levelling out much more now
None of this makes me and less happy to have bought and now own one and whereas I have a high turnover of phones, tis is one that is for keeps much like my old Startac 130

Is there any way to set an image as the background but have a DIFFERENT image to show once the flip is closed?

I want to pick up the RazR V3 as my very first mobile phone, but I have two concerns:
1. I want to be able to jot down notes, like a bare-basic TO DO list. Something simple like a multiple shopping lists. Does the RazR do something like that? Or maybe even use the Phone Book to do the same?
ex.
NAME: Shopping
NUMBER (Home): Milk
NUMBER (Work): Bread
NUMBER (Cell): Coffee
ADDRESS: Lasagne
...etc
2. I heard a black one has just been released. Should I wait, or will it take too long to arrive for general consumers (even then at an inflated price)?
