@luwi and others for replacement: try to secure a Certificate of Diagnostic Findings (CDF) from Smartnet so you can justify the need to replace your phones by Ericsson Phil.

i need some logical advice from you guys. i got my t65's SW upgraded to r4a007 from r3a by semicon. everthing's going well but after 2 days i noticed that the SOS CALLS ONLY replaces my network's name and lingers there for sometime like 20-30 secs during standby. i did a master reset and turned the phone off and on but it still appears. also the signal indicator strength indicator shows a very weak signal or no bars at all most of the time. before the upgrade the lowest it gets is up to 2 bars only. thanx fellas.

if you're using a desktop, you need to still buy an IR adapter. (MA-600 ???) yung recommended model na available locally.
from a notebook, well i think all notebooks nowadays got IR.
just install the modem driver for your phone from SE, make a dial-up connection, and you' re set.
see the technical and GPRS fourms for details (and i there are discussions about this matter already)
