Just updated my friend's K800i via SEUS. This time I decided to remove his M2 before running SEUS and voila...ALL games and applications are in tact! All work perfectly, no need to re-install anything. Hope this helps.

Hi

I had a k800, branded on orange network until today...
tryed to update to R1GB001 on SEUS... evrthng ok until 67%... than it started from tha start of Update Service.... now the phone is working, but i have no more light on keypad and dispaly...
..tryed to reflash it two more times with seus - tha same fatal end - 67%....

any ideea why..?

I'm having the exact same problem, I got someone to ring me to see if the phone screen would light up but it doesn't, making it very hard to see who's phoning >_>

Is there a way to use the generic firmware on an orange-locked phone or will it break it? Should I just wait for a fix?

I tried it again today and it wrote the firmware 100%, I turned the phone on and it said 'please wait' for about 7 seconds and now the lighting problems are fixed

I noticed on the SEUS it downloaded a new update, well it got to 2% downloaded before starting to flash, instead of staying at 0%, so try again today maybe they sorted it out

Pressing buttons makes the screen bright again! Yay!

I made the upgrade with the M2 card installed, (I read the notes about problems with apps and games on the M2 card in this thread after I made the upgrade) and those games and programs that did function before the upgrade still functions, but the ones that didn't function before still do not function. I can't get Opera Mini 3.0 to work, for example, and was hoping that the fw upgrade should fix that problem. I have even made a master reset of the phone with no difference.

Just retried updating, all is now well.

It did linger on 94% for a long time, but then jumped to 100%

Someone mustn't have but it on SEUS properly first time round

i removed my m2 stick before updating as well but all my apps were installed on the phone memory so im not sure whether that solves anything....

@mwarner - i think i first saw the volume indicator bug on R1ED001.

Has anyone else spotted the new 'speed dial' menu in Settings>Calls. Im pretty sure ive only seen it on the new firmware

Yes, I found the new Speed Dial too. Anyway, didn't anyone confirm the Pop Up Image Bug I said before?

Is it really a bug and not a feature??

It's not a BIG bug, but a little bit annoying. You can do the trick of putting the Background and Pop Up Image of the same color or either simply importing an image to Pop Up. But, this didn't occur in previous f/w. I have redesigned my themes by inserting image in Pop Up and all is back to normal.

Here's another missing functionality in the new firmware R1GB001.
If you want to access the internet from your K800i via your PC using PAN as in ( http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=124714&start=61 ), forget it with new firmware. This firmware doesn't create the bluetooth data account needed for this functionality. This was OK on R1ED001. If you created this account earlier, then make sure you don't delete it ever (like I stupidly did).

Has anyone managed to downgrade the firmware?
