Is the s845 good enough to run everything in 4k 60 now? I remember when xzp was reveal they said there was an option to run everything at native 4k but retail release never had it. Does the s845 even support vp9_2 for youtube 4k hdr video?

https://www.qualcomm.com/products/snapdragon-845-mobile-platform
sd845 supports 10 bit 4k hdr @60fps and spectra isp 280 support 16
mp@60 fps so it can be said
4k@120fps even possible.
heat could be problem even if it supports, or maybe they save it for xz2p...

Is there a tech event between MWC and IFA where Sony could announce the XZ2 Premium/Pro? Or they would have a solo press conference for the phone, which I don't think they've done before.

I think the plan has been decided, this was supposed to be the showstopper device at MWC hence all this dual camera hype so I'm saying that I have no idea when it will launch. For a Summer launch you'd expect an announcement pretty soon. I would say that the XZ2 Premium will be a big device in the hand and a fair bit more expensive than the XZ2 so the choice will be there. You know, Sony sensors are big business and I believe Xperia will be here for a long time even if it seems like they're on a damage control strategy. I would've like Sony to come to a deal with Apple for the side FPS when negotiating the camera sensors but maybe Sony puss out in these negotiations.
But I think that the device should be announced at IFA.. You see it would be a very bad decision to announce the new pro/premium at a conference of their own.. They won't get the enough hype...And if they will announce it, April's the best time ..
Thanks for this info.. Both you and arch.. Keep posting updates..
P. S what happened to tony? It would have been great if he joined this discussion.. Maybe some more hints?!

There are some tech events here and there.. But not on a global scale like MWC OR IFA.. there is an upcoming asian tech fair I suppose..
I think if there's a midyear release they would do it in their own conference.. They did something like that with the M5 AND C5 ultra if I remember correctly..

Computex?
But, as I recall, Sony's never launched new phone at Computex.

I know.. But there isn't any other tech shows, is there?
And as for the M5 and C5 ultra, they were released in a press conference of their own in August
