AFAIK the new "premium" or SO-05K will be released just right before the annually spring phone refresh by NTT Docomo.

But that image has LOOP DESIGN.
Maybe the pic given to @spektykles might be real phone.
Hope they dont wait until late May to announce.
Honestly, it looks way bettet than XZ2.

About the tease, I don't know really.. Not very optimistic.. That might just be a phone and not the pro.. The tease was intentional and not of the pro.. It was only of the two xz2 and compact..

It's not unprecedented that sony set up a private press conference to announce a product. perhaps they will do this to announce the pro/premium?
i don't think it's a terrible idea to wait for IFA either. gives them enough time to iron out whatever changes they made, perfect everything and manufacturer enough stock for same day global release instead of announce and 1-2 month release after.

Like is it from a reliable source.. Everyone here is talking about may release.. But I really want that to change.. It would be a very bad decision if they launch three different flagships.. That too after the xz2 goes on sale.. Consumers would be very angry and they would feel cheated..
Personally I think it would release in IFA.. Ricciolo posted something about sony and Samsung fooling people with the mwc launches.. The way he compared the two companies, I think they are bound to clash and they would the flagships for this fall...

It is a totally different phone, I dont think ppl who buy XZ2 would be that mad.
Everybody now knows something is on the way.
It is different of when you bring something from out of nowhere.
Or same phone with more storage/ram 2 months later, like LG G6+.
Not all costumers need the 4K screen.
Last year I saw many comments of ppl that got XZs instead because it was smaller, also FHD was enough.
Same of 2015. I dont have numbers but I doubt Z5P sold more than Z5.
I think Sony is doing right with this device. Premium like needs something else exclusive besides the 4K.
Hope they can use screen FPS too.
Something else... At Sony's booth ppl could see the pieces of XZ2. I dont see the graphite sheet like XZP.
Would that be due 4K?

Didn't get what you saud about the announcement.. But anyways as far as I know, the graphite sheet was for overheating issues.. The thickness of the new phones is so much that overheating won't be a problem.. Thus the removal of the sheet IMO.. I think thd the new phones would be able to record 4k videos without getting the least warm
