guys the truth is and I'm trying to be careful what I say here and as you know I'm not a Sony basher
After having owned the Z the ZU and Z1 the Verge is probably more correct about their screen comments than not, the current supply of Z1's do not have as good a screen as the Ultra (that is a fact) the sweetner for early adopters was probably the bundle of freebies, the Ultra had the best screen I've ever seen on a phone and TBH the Z1 should have had as well - maybe it was a market decision to enable the launch of the Z1 at the IFA - maybe the IPS screens simply were not going to be available in the numbers they needed for a late Sept launch - who knows but they did it anyway, I also believe that the same Ultra IPS screen is going to be used going forward.
Now in saying the above - the screen is not bad - it's better than the Z but just falls short of the Ultra but it is still a great screen - unfortunately it leaves reviewers like the Verge to be critical of the almost perfect Z1 and that in my opinion should not/never have happened - it is a slight on what should have been and could have been The Perfect Android Phone - OK it will be in a month or so and we got compensated with a few freebies worth $200 - does that make up for it - well it probably does but you'll always know you have the Z1va and not the Z1ips - shouldn't have happened

^did you get bitch slapped by the monkey?
As you said, it could be better. no doubt. but in no way would i say my screen is terrible. i think it's pretty awesome. But, I never owned a ZU or OLED or SLCD.. so i guess i don't have a point of reference.

looks pretty decent luwi.. other than the fact that you're making me dizzy with those slanted shots!
some edge blurs on the widest left and right parts of the frame.. but that's to be expected on such a wide angle lens with no hump. pictures could be alil sharper and colors could pop more. it just takes time to get used to the camera i think. the nuances of the sensor, lens, and controls to get the most out of it.

Any chance the blur can be resolved with software updates?
Also i asked about the 3x clear zoom earlier in the thread, is this much better than digital zoom?

A more precise auto focus software might help a bit.. but not much

The hump has nothing to do with it... the 1020 has one and it still blurs the edges.

I'll be able to test the zoom tomorrow since it will be nice weather and I will have more free time.

@moogoo what I did was clicked on the movies bit in the xperia privilege app, I then just followed the instructions on the next page. Then I had to go into the movie player app, sign into my sony account again I think and there was the films waiting to be downloaded ;-)

@Del - yea i know that's the process.. but it is apparently not available in the States right now. I uninstall and re-install it all the time, and refresh, but to no avail. Sigh.
