Looks like other sites are picking up the technodify.com article which is just speculation and various specs posted on various forums and sites. All they did was gather them together and post an article to attract visitors.
They state no source for these leaked specs, so I call BS.
The 820 should make it to the market this year, probably late in the year but we don't know in what capacity. If there are no issues with the chips like overheating or whatnot and Samsung can crank out enough to satisfy all the requirements from manufacturers then perhaps yes we will see the 820 in a sony this fall/winter. Introduction can be in September it will probably go on sale much later once enough 820s are available. We still have 5 models from sony to be introduced this year, Lavender, E56xx and the 3 Z5 products. Announcing 5 phones at IFA would be something but not sure something Sony should do, either focus on the Z5 line or only the 2 mid range models and then a seperate show for the Z5 later on.

This is a good article to read to have an idea of Sony Mobile's CEO plans moving forward.

more of the rumors posted above:
Sony’s rumored to have gone smartphone mad, may be preparing the Xperia Z5 for release

It seems that the author and I share the same opinion... that it's "too early" for a Z5.
cheers!

Compact, main and ultra variant codes were already published for 2015 launch (e). as of now, it is the most reliable info. mid range devices and/or smartwatch 4 cannot be the star of ifa event. imo they need a lot of media coverage for flag devices. they cannot disappoint consumers and media once again as they did at mwc. if s820 is for 2015 then nothing is too early. regardless, it is not too early for a new first true phablet flag from sony. it is still half a year strategy for main. they may start one year or continue with x + x + strategy which is still better then last year because the media won't expect much more from a + device.

M4 Aqua was the "star" at MWC and if Z5 is not ready - they'll do it again. E5663 and Lavender are quite likely candidates.

@penguino
Yes, and that is a problem. there is no new flag from sony since 2014. z3+ is even not going to launch in the my country and i guess in a lot of other countries too. once note 5, the next iphones, lg new phablet, etc. launch if sony does not have something new to sell they might as well quit the mobile industry. all people are going to buy the new wave of flags and ignore z3+. they need to at least announce a new phablet flag even if s820 is not an option and if s820 is available then announce new compact and main as well. announcement is not retail.

Oh please Sony, don't make the next Ultra phone a watered down version of the flagship like the Z Ultra. Very much hoping for a proper camera and a camera flash
Still love my Z Ultra, but the USB port flap gasket fell off, so it's no longer waterproof
One thing I am concerned about though, is the return of the shatterproof sheet on the Z3+. I'm hoping that was only for that one phone, and that future phones won't have it.

Hooray! Emphasis on staying in smartphone market is assured by Sony Mobile CEO. Let's have faith in him as he has did a wonderful job with more than 30 years working in Sony. He managed to turn other units ( SoNet and Sony Financial) into very profitable units. With only 9 mths in his new post, I believe changes in Sony Mobile performance will arrive soon!
