@mamba: 3G ko; abeg! How much money have they made off GPRS that 3G is the next thing now?

Besides MTN is also configuring 3G (at least so they say), and their own GPRS is working now.

Howdy all,
This tantalizing talk of 3G is getting me excited. Nitel is also planning to go 3G. So where is Vmobile in all this forward thinking? Do they think thier Vactive and Voffice are enough to fight off the competition? I wonder if anyone uses these services.
Like Aya said, if MTN comes out with better gprs tariffs, I just might jettison my Vmobile or Glo line in favour of MTN.
I dreamt that MTN announced a gprs tariff of 50k per kb of data down load for MTN WAP, and 50k per kb of data upload for MTN GPRS.........
Yeah, just a dream.

@amby: You can be sure that if MTN declares such a tariff structure tonight, Jesus will come back tomorrow morning.... so it would be of no benefit to any of us...

I did. Both ways, all you receive is an SMS notification requiring you to log online to view your MMS.

@all: While I am not a prophet, with the benefit of hindsight, I prophesy that this forum will suddenly become very active from now till Sept 30, and then everyone will disappear again. Everyone except myself and a couple of others. Any contrary opinions?

Its been quite a while since Brix25 popped in here, wonder where he's at.
I also wonder where egunje, coola and areafada are.
At least I know where Seun is.

@Aya: I agree with you, but don't blame them if they take off when the service is no longer free, its additional expense some people can do without. As for you, the net is your life, right?
Please how do I attach emoticons (smileys) in my post from a pc?

If you'd been observing the SA thread you'd notice I've been there all along...also been lurking around the Naija thread but couldn't share the in the excitement of free GPRS.

I've also been busy at work so couldn't post as much I would've liked. I asked this before but could anyone please check if MTN are using EDGE...also I read someone on comment that their GPRS is fast- I suspect they've deployed GPRS+ which is good news for their subscribers.
