@grifter, am not bashing nokia ha, but in my experience the 8210 with a simple UI hangs up, turns itself off at will and does not turn on. how's that for a nokia phone with a relatively simple UI.

punta ko bukas sa Smartnet, mga 12, papareset ng earpiece.

hmph. papareset na lang lagi hanggang dumating na yun replacements. hmph.

@pot
welcome to pinoy chitchat.

@grifter
oo nga, the reason i bought a T68 last january is because my 3210 broke down (for the first time in 3 years actually). tapos mas madalas pa pala mag-breakdown yun T68. well, cant blame such a feature-packed phone. pero sana naman not that often mag-breakdown.

as a firmware engineer (naks!) i can diagnose that the problems with the t68 phone is both the firmware and hardware. the synchronization of the firmware to the hardware causes most of the hang-up / reset of devices. for example, windows (relate lahat). the infamous blue screen is cause by hardware violation. the operating system / application is trying to access some part of the microprocessor that it should not. its access right is limited (i.e. power user access as opposse to supervisor mode access). this results to anomality. windows has trap exception for those events so it does not reset, only reports what is the anomality. as for the t68, i really don't know how they designed the firmware.

this may explain why the i haven't hanged (for those t68i users). the development of the firmware was partially done in japan and the development tool was good, the best even in the firmware industry (will not say the name, ano to libreng plugging!).

rules!

@pogie, no development tool is good enough if there is no QA associated with the process.

@arnoldc ..... how true! how true! did you know (and this is a fact)that most japanese companies spend 30% of the total budget for q.a.?

but this development tool that i am talking about is sooooo cool!
