In my case the culpprit draining the battery was the timescape widget...removed that and all was good

@rikken i takes a few charges to get the battery working as it should, end of the first week i was amazed but now i feel it has the same as my x10

running my screen @ 30% no bravia engine and some animation, still the screen eats battery like hell, even idle/wait

i am about to root it in the future see if that has any impact on the battery

Widgets that i use (Widgetsoid, pure callendar, trafic counter pro) thats ALL

Go to the page before this and I highlight a few useful apps, most of which are free.
I'm not sure about what to do if you want to hack to get all apps free, but there are sources (bit torrent) where you can download apks and just install them. They won't be attached to the market though (so no updates). Some apps are smarter and have different ways to make you pay for it and actively monitor that people using their apps have bought it rather than stolen it.
