I also do confirm the bug with big text files cannot be launched, and close the text (or notebook) application.

I have compare it with p910 (my old and loyal telecom warrior), and it opened text files bigger than 400 Kb (which this size my p990 does not like, and refuses to open).

To say it is a bug is absolutely wrong. At this moment I am listening some music, checking emails, contact app is open, advanced call manager in the background, and reading 1.4mb (very long text file-actually a book) in word to go. I couldnt do that in my P910. One of the advantages of P990 is IMO ability to handle large text documents.

.Hey how were you able to open 1.4 mb file in word to go?
Was it a file you wrote or something what you installed in the phone? I'm quite surprised.

Its a book I created in ms word on my PC andthen instaled on P990 (274 pages). In any case word to go is able to open 1-1.5 mb files.

I have now had some time to use R6. Put simply, its worse than R5. Overall, I have less user satisfaction.

I had forgotten about the phone re-start issues and how bad it was. Its almost like there MUST be new f/w left to come and just wants to remind us how bad the phone was!! I have to say, I was dang happy with R5 and only upgraded to see if some of the small tweaks possibly waiting as nuggets in R6. Im terribly diappointed.

Its like giving with one hand and taking away with the other. The plus of the louder alarm and debatably improved auto-focus do not outweigh by any means the resarting I am now experiencing again (welcome back R3) and the low memory because the leak is now worse (can we say R3 again).

If anyone ever thinks of a way of reverting to former f/w, please do share.

Totally agree.

R6 didn't actually introduce any major thing to us but more problems.

and...the nasty bug is back again...the phone appears to be on, and in reality, the phone application is not working and the phone itself is actually off...I missed an important call today from one of my teammates in my work due to this f**kin bug that makes the phone fail even to work as a NORMAL DAMN CELL PHONE.

What the hell is SE thinking?? and stopping support and f/w upgrades is another thing that makes me want to stop using SE products completely in favor to Nokia, after I've been loyal to Ericsson/SE for 5 damn years.

Am beginning to hate this phone already...

.Well, my phone on r5 was not able to open a file 274k, written in word. Although, was able to open other file about 900k. It's a mistery how it works. I have no problems with docstogo.

If it is still stuck, you have no choice. Cancel the update (remove the phone) and start from the beginning. You will not have to download the fw again and the program should start updating the phone right away.
