it depends what you call death, they have found different parts of your body shut down at different times during death, your heart stops and you stop breathing but even minutes after death there is still brain activity, the last sense to go is apparently hearing, that's why you shouldn't tell somebody you hated them l along just after they die
Id technically call death the point where you can't experience anything anymore, when the brain completely shuts down and there is no activity, after that point there is less than 'nothingness' you don't even know there is silence, or nothing there, you are gone its as simple as that imo, a lot of people find that hard to accept.
