Change of pace, movies this time. First clip is from the Elm, in a moving car & through a glass window. Street scene

Elm street movie

Compare this with the W995 movie shot

W995 street movie

Note how jerky the motorcycle rider's image appears as he crosses the camera's view. Frame rate of the Elm is clearly superior , as well as the resolution.

YouTube had a hard time digesting the Elm's DSC file so i had to use a converter to transform it into AVI. Below is a link to the best free video converter I know (better than a lot of commercial ones too) :

Some more Elm shots, these were taken around 2pm under a blazing Manila sun. The armadillo & boy statue shots turned out the best because I was able to take advantage of some generous tree shade. Not that lucky with the deer shot hence the glare. EV+0 to -3 with lighting setting set to Daylight.

No news about when the Hazel is coming out yet, the hardware inside is supposed to be the same as the Elm but with a bigger screen, 2nd video call camera. Camera shot quality should be equal to the Elm.

interesting Youtube review of the Hazel here (not in english alas) Hazel review by Telefonultau

Re: photoshot stability - you take advantage of anything you can brace yourself against (chairs, tables, trees , people etc I've read that the lag time between pressing that button and the actual shot taking place is longer for mobile phone cams compared to DSLRs' so it's really tougher to take a stable snapshot using your phone.

In the absence of anything to brace yourself against just take a stable standing or sitting stance then take a deep breath then exhale slowly while *gently* pressing the camera button. Hope this helps.

Floorboard of a shop in Manila

Manila sky (shot through a tinted car windshield)

Some rocks I found in my backyard

I tried comparing these to photos produced by a standard point-and-shoot cam and I am impressed with the quality, almost at par.
