@pogie, i use a pda for mobility. though i have a toshiba notebook, mabigat sya. i also use specific applications like Expensable to manage my re-imbursements when travelling, TimeTTracker to log the time when i'm doing a project. when i'm in a meeting, i don't need to bring my notebook, i use the note taking features. and i can't do without AvantGo

cguro nga pda is not for me. i still do those things the old fashion way, all in the head .... which is very prone to forgetting.... i tried taking notes using a pda kaso mas mabilis akong magsulat kesa mag squiggle ng coresponding letter to the pda. at mahilig akong mag doodle kaya i have my doodle book and journal.

unless you know a program that will understands/parse/decode cursive handwriting....

do you?:?

@pogie on PDAs
first of all, a PDA is not a replacement for a notebook. so it is not fair to compare it with carrying a notebook, or using it in lieu of a PC.

but there are a lot of things a PDA can do well, which can also be done on a notebook/PC. i always bring my PDA with me 'coz
a) i dont have a laptop (sa office 'yon e )
b) i'm not good with remembering stuff - so i got my contacts, notes, calendar, etc on my pda instead (which is a palm m505, btw)
c) after "discovering GPRS, i now surf and send/retrieve emails direct from the PDA
d) other than a glorified PIM. i also use it to track my daily expenses, write documents and spreadsheets, send/receive/archive my SMS messages from the phone, and more.

all these, plus more, on a device that fits comfortably on the palm of my (small) hand

PS. i used to have this "educational" guide on my PDA - palmasutra. hehehe. im thru with it na kaya i uninstalled it already.
