ok guys, got everything setup and now even more upset, i found out i cant use msn messenger or any other IM services apart from AIM on my phone. Anyway.... good news maybe, i think ive found of a way to get msn to work on your phone from 02 payg sim, goto google in opera and search for msn web messenger, load up the first website, ignore all the warnings saying this isnt compatible and 56k recommended blah blah blah and goto sign in, HOPEFULLY it should sign you into msn, it worked for me and i was signing in but i got the error.. run out of memory so im having a play still with it.

Tell me if anyone can get this method to work and also, is there any good websites to pass the time people can recommend? without IM software currently i got no clue in what im going to use my free gprs for.

Also, is there a way to send free sms msgs from the web on my phone? i had sms send but i dont think that will work now as it uses icq to send them.

Hey, does anyone think 02 delibrately done this without telling anyone? i mean they must be making a profit from all the new people coming to 02 just for this. I mean they got me along with probably a lot more users, i would prefer to stick with orange but i cant be bothered to keep on switching my sim card .

hold on - i used the settings at the start of this thread and i got charged for it. any idea whats going on? i just this second registered the sim, do you think i have to wait til the 1Mb free is activated before i can get free GPRS?

i cant be unlucky enough for them to start charging for GRRS on port 8080 as soon as i finally got a pay and go sim - can i???

EDIT:: my bad - i forgot to change the 9201 to 8080 in the wap account too. now i'm gettin free GPRS! yay! sorry for being a pleb!

hi guys..

Im currently trying to setup my new o2 PAYG sim on an unlocked Vodafone P910I.

I have put all the settings in.. But when I try to edit the preffered WAP account to O2 from Voda... it is greyed out and cant be changed..

Also tried to delete the other Voda Internet and WAP settings but the b******ding phone wont let me..

Anyone else got around this?

Or should I just go get it flashed with Original SE firmware?

well it should work on 6230 as long as you can change the port numbers. You will have to check that one out yourself since I dont have a 6230 to hand.
