Why not just write a SMS or mail with your shopping list and save as draft?

Why not indeed?

I don't own a RazR v3 yet, so I'm asking if such alternatives are possible.

They are indeed.. used that "trick" alreday in the old Ericsson days
Do yourself a favour and insist on having a go on a live V3 in a shop before buying it (i donīt mean that thereīs anything wrong with the V3, itīs just good advice regardless of phone make and model) Itīs just so easy to be blinded by advertising and hype and buy the "wrong" phone as a result.

I bought the Standard Pack RazR v3 today (the one without the Bluetooth headset), but when I got home and tried to set it up, I noticed a piece was missing (at least I think so).

It kept talking about plugging the power cable into a small "mini USB tip" as it was referred on Page 3 of this thread. Do I need to take it back and ask if this thing is actually a customer return/2nd hand, or is this mini USB tip only available with the full pack with the Bluetooth Headset?

you should have got that angle connector in the box but its not really needed as you can plug directly into the mini USB port. the angle converter just changes the direction. I've never used it myself

I didn't get the leather case, belt clip or "screen cleaner" either.

I'm back from work, and it's 11pm, so I need to know wether to go ahead and continue to open all the stuff and start charging this thing, or wether to freeze and take this back tomorrow in a huff and let the accusations (politely) fly.

I've looked and looked and LOOKED on the Net for an official Contents for the RazR v3, but I've found absolutely nothing. Am I supposed to get the stuff I just named, in addition to the Mini USB Angular plug, or d'ya think the retailers will tell me I got a bare-basic pack (hoping to get away with selling an incomplete return)?

EDIT: (The number 5 digit is also protruding from the handset. All the other numbers are beneath the metal, but the five is sticking out. Your finger brushes against it when you slide your finger over the phone. I'm afraid of accidentely tearing it off. Again, is this normal?)

I got all that stuff and it came in a metal box. The usb cable is also a sync and charge cable and I have never used the a/c adaptor to charge the phone

maybe the retailer you got it from has some sort of reduced pack. I did hear at one time that the full kit in the metal box was limited but I still see them for sale on ebay etc

"...and the lack of ANY accessories, even a case, makes me a little nervous."

Well, that guy in the above review page didn't get any goodies, and I checked ebay.com.au (I'm in Australia), and they don't mention the case, clip or mini Usb Adaptor either.

# V3 Handset
# Travel Charger
# Standard Battery
# USB Data Cable
# Normal Handsfree
# Software
# Users Guide
# 12 Month Warranty

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I got all that.

I think I'll go ahead and continue with the unpacking and let it charge overnight, but it's EXTREMELY frustrating not being able to find a simple thing like Package Contents from the Motorolla website. I've only just bought the phone (my first) and my first impression is a distrust/dislike of Moto. I mean, I had to go to my local eBay to find out what I get in the box?

Hmph. v_v

Jen, the protruding 5 is normal. It's so that people with visual impairments can use the keypad. On other handsets there's usually a raised dot on the 5. I guess this is Motorola's answer.
