if they removed that keyboard and made it a large screen (or made it large screen that you could attach the keyboard to and it would make the screen smaller) and it had a 4mp camera, and better battery, oh and while I'm dreaming, if it was thinner.
I'd buy it without any questions.

I gave up and bought a Tytn and loving it, I had the p990 for a few days and after the countless crashes and the fact that I couldn't do anything while browsing the internet (including opening 2 browsers
) I went for the tytn, although the micro sd is screwing me over, I want to finally have a 4-8 gb on one stick but that never seems to happen, last year I thought I'd have a 32gb stick on one card by now, I just recently got a 4 gb msduo pro lol, and they keep making 'em smaller damn them >.
anyways hope S.E. clean up their act the competition is increasing.

the volume seems weak in comparison with headset playback in comparison with with Siemens SL45i (i love this old siemens phone). The stereo also seems weak in comparison with K750i - but it is audible and does not sound like mono type. i haven't upgraded my Firmware yet, i am thinking to w8 for a more development in the FW prior to engaging to modifying it.
I am still having difficlty to reflect the CD artwork in the MP3 playback. in N70 Mp3 player you can add artwork in the mp3 by adding and labeling it under user defined artwork. In P990i am getting impatient...cant' have the splashy artwork reflect in the program. Anyone is welcome to pitch in.
I wasn't lucky in Wifi conection everytime i attemp.. an error occurs and prompting me a message which readsl like "cannot find wap addres.. etc. (?)" which make me scracth my head...and wonder Y.
For video playback, i noted that large file convered via RealPlayer (3gp) cannot be played and only freezes the phone program which prompts me to reboot my phone. I am still checking other software which can decode the movie so that i can playback. A good thing though is that the slider is useful in the small 3gp, and mp4 to forward/rewind the clip.
I miss the simple alarm clock.

It seems that the phone is really in deep trouble. If you like that sounds of your seimens that means the sound of my p910i is way better than the p990i. Its still cost too much here in riyadh but i will wait until november if the phone will be fixed. try downloading the swiss manager it can help you save more RAM. Tell us more about the phone's prons and cons thanks tan for the information....

Amidst the few niggles SE P990i still is a great phone. Of course after spending some bucks i bet you will feel the same. lol.
My thanks to Spine06 as i manage to try updating my FW for the 3rd time. Jah input in one forum segment proves to be helpful in ensuring the updating of the firmware - by deleting one folder in Program File\\SE..etc.. (i don't have my files here at home..)

i wasn't able to copy my emails yet (as the system is taking much time to copy my 2weeks tons of emails) however once again the synch of calendar and contacts was a breeze.
swiss manager? i'll try to check where is the link and try to download it.

did you grab your unit from Sony Showroom? Whats the battery included?
Any body knows where to get an application to read arabic sms. Am getting ascii codes instead of arabic fonts. Although i dont read arabic.. it still nice to have it avaialble so that i can ask my colleague read it 4me especially if its an important message.
