in the past, such as K800->K810, W800->W810 etc. It's a way to extend the life of an older handset without much extra development or cost. These re-releases aren't ever the flagship but more a bridge until the flagship arrives and as a toe in on the mid-range when the high-end becomes mid-range and technology advances. I'm not too disturbed by hearing no multi-core, only .3 inch screen improvement, no increase in OS as all that means is that there's a better phone coming.

seems like se had fall in love with quallcom msm chipset. They used it in entire xperia android line.. last se phone with omap is satio and vivaz.. (maybe they had optimized their android kernel with msm?)
