@bennie: Good. That means you can use it for email proper IF you have a full internet GPRS account (e.g. Glodirect).

Oh, your email account also has to be POP/IMAP, not webmail. Yahoo, for example, is webmail, as most other such services are. You can get free POP/IMAP accounts at www.hotpop.com and www.swissinfo.org, among others.

@ihe:A dry day indeed. As per networks,MTN GPRS has been misbehaving badly all day (sorry to disappoint you).

Anyway, it was a good day for me. I got myself a Dell Latitude laptop. I am posting this, using my T68i and Glo line as a modem with it

The MTN GPRS is a real pain, it only connects whenever it wants to...
The trick is to keep redialing or clicking links till it connects, that's only if you're patient like me...

AYA, congrats on your new laptop..
How much did you get it and what's the full specs cos I kinda need one too..
Are you now planning to drop your 9500 cos thats what I'm expecting you to do now after aquiring a Laptop and a t68i.

@mamba: The MTN thing don dey tire me jare.

The laptop specs:
Dell Latitude P2 400Mhz. 12Gb. 128mb. CD. FDD. IrDA. USB. Serial.

Its amazingly speedy. I had Win2000 +SP4 installed on it, because from the experience of others, XP keeps having problems when it comes to connecting devices.

All connections work fine here. Cost N47k only.

Did I hear you suggest me selling my 9500? No way! I have no intention of carrying a laptop around. The Dell is basically a desktop replacement for me, especially because of PHCN

However,if you make me a good offer on the 9500, I might consider it .

@AYA,congrats on your new laptop.Enjoy the gadget. With the way MTN gprs is going it looks like Glo is yet to have a credible gprs rival. @mamba,I'm also a patient redail-er.However,I hope to lose my patience on Oct 1. This message was posted from a Nokia

MTN actually rushed this GPRS thing as I've noticed..
my brother, they just had to do it cos of competition from glo...

I wonder what Vmobile is doing about this cos I dusted their SIM yesterday and slipped it into my spare phone when I heard about the new Vstep prices. Anyway, that's not enough to keep a subscriber like me cos I'd rather use a network with GPRS capability...

@Ihe, hoping to loose your patience by Oct 1 reminds me of Nigeria's birthday..

@AYA, can't I get a p3 with about 600mhz speed for that price (47k)?
