@the wanksta: I wish. There's NO way I'm being sent to London for a SmartPhone Expo. Buggers are too stingy.

I know the k700i can stream video (at least according to these forums), but I have no idea how to go about it, how much it costs or even wether it's worthwhile doing.
With all this talk of streaming bbc, my interest is aroused somewhat. But not to the point that I'd go buy a 3g phone right now. Not with the leaps and bounds they are making every month.
Speaking of which, I wonder what Samsung and SE's answer to nokia's N series will look like.
Rapid!

@ brix,
LOL,yeah I know it's pretty much pipe dreaming...!
hopefully SE will be giving away loads of freebie merchandise/souvenirs again,like they did at the Mobile Phone Expo in 2003.
Many of the SE memorablia occasionally on sale in the esato market forum is stuff they give out to any SE fans passing by at the expo's...I

Does one really need a Vodafone branded cell to view the BBC stream ? I very much doubt it.With a S60 (6680) you should be able to emulate any branding but isnt there a even easier way ?

@mario
if you can get on the voda live site i cant see why you would not be able to, as i been able to get on with my k700 and voda sim some time ago i believe its possible. but quite expensive, as streaming is roughly about 1mb per minute

@mario: Unless the Beeb or any other broadcaster provides a direct link to their stream you'll still require a branded phone...Networks host the stream on their servers so it only makes sense that they provide it exclusively to their subscribers. In future there might be a hack but I don't think it's worth the effort unless it's the Playboy channel being streamed:-)

@rhino8: Ouch. thats quite a bit.
In other news:
I have a few friends overseas... in australia, it costs 20c to sms here, and in NZ sms's are free on a weekend. Interesting.
Anyone else know of pricing or interesting concepts overseas? I could probably find out for britain as most of my family are there.

In the US depending on your price plan, off peak voice calls are almost free...that's why sms'ing so unpopular.
