Is there a version 3 firmware? When i looked monday night there wap only version 2.82

I dont install any firmware - I stick to 1.5 for obvious reasons
...But there is no harm whatsoever in updating - the only case I know of bricking, is if you update and DOWNGRADE a lot of times...But just make sure that you want to update before you do, as if you change your mind about playing homebrew, there's a chance that you might not be able to...

I know for sure that 3.0 has been released in Japan
...I'm not sure about Europe/north America...

hhmmm not sure.... try converting them to mpeg format... or use DVD Decrypter to directly rip movies off DVDs into mpeg... than convert using PSPVideo9.
