yeah I can see what you're saying but I have been happily playing music on my K750 since I got it. I have a 1gb PRO duo in it and its full.

Ok so it doesn't automatically offer menus based on artist or provide playlists but it does support folders which you can individually select your music from in "almost" play list or "artist" fashion. It just requires some setup and forethought but having already done that and having already got a bigger memory stick than comes with the W800 I don't see all that in the W800 as such a huge advantage

I have also found the sound through the W800 headset a little tinny (or metalic) in comparison to the K750 while playing the same music or indeed, the supplied maroon 5 track.

Well, as I said a few posts back; It's a matter of taste.

My W800i arrived at 08:00am on August 12th courtesy of eBay.

I've wanted this phone since I first read about it on here a couple of months ago.

Had the K700i previously, bypassed the K750i and overall I think the W800i was worth the wait.

Pros:

Design, 2Mpixel camera, improved menu system, memory stick, walkman functionality, music-only mode.

Cons:

New connector means old SE mains chargers and hands-free kits cannot be used, a 3.5mm jack would have been useful as supplied headphones aren't that great (I've ordered an adapter of eBay) and has anyone else observed that it is impossible to charge the phone AND listen to music at the same time??

I guess the phone companies always hold back on at least one feature, otherwise no-one would ever upgrade

All the same it's a great phone and I recommend it to anyone else who's been waiting.

I guess I am a bit different then; I preffer the W to the K
Both colour combination and keyboard layout (Walkman- Activity- button) appeals to me.

All in all I guess it is a matter of taste.

Or a matter of age - masseur is a bit older (mature)

I must say from what i've heard already the W800 does sound good, although for me its nothing more than a spruced up K750. As i have an ipod and im quite happy with my k750 i will probably wait until next year (pehaps getting it as a free upgrade - if SE don't produce anything better in the mean time).

One thing i don't really care for thou is the styling - i know SE and Sony want to use the walkman brand, but the orange and creme/white styling is awful for me - give me the professional look of the k750 anyday.

Would be interested to know how better the camera is thou, people have said that the lens is CCD.

Also what ships in the box - does it use Sonicstage ripping software, and can you use your own headphones (ie does the connetor allow you to use your own) - i presume the headphones suppied are just an improved version of the set that come with the K750.

here is what comes in the box

and here is the headphone arrangement. As you can see you get the connector to the phone and cable up to the microphone and answer button. You also get a headset with a standard 3.5mm connector so you can certainly use your own headset and still have answering capability. Finally you get three sizes of the rubber bit that fits into your ear
