I've got vodafone K750i which I flashed with davinci's R1L002 f/w
CDA 102338/38 R2A prgCXC125952_EU_1_CL 1EOW EUROPE 2
ITP SW version CXC 125 932 R1B Content version PA19
Camera : 4.4

I've also got W800i from virgin which is unbranded and Simfree.
When I looked at the software info , it has got the same f/w.
R1L002 prgCXC1250092_EU_1_C A R1L002
ITP SW VERSION CXC 125 932 R1D
Customization CDA 102425/6 R2A cxc 1250093 R1L002
EUROPE_2 Content version PA6
LCD SW Main Display Current: 0 Camera: 4.4

I was expecting the W800i to have a different firmware which I think is
a R1K*** but it turned out it's the same as my K750i...

The W800i handset works great and the Disk2phone program is brilliant and very easy tool to transfer music from pc to phone, just drag and drop and it's done . I also found out that the disc2phone program can be used to transfer music from pc to K750i. You can get this program in
SE official website on the link below.

Any W800i owner here with a different firmware inside?

Well, you don't have to wave your phone all over. Keep a low profile and you should be OK. Or put the phone in some kind of casing (I use my old P910-carrying case).

My wife and i must have flown on Virgin Atlantic several times to the U.S in recent years and have never experienced any problems regarding flightmode enabled phones, i certainly wouldn't keep the bluetooth function on during a flight, but i think that the market is so flooded with different phones, that the flight personnel dont have a clue if your particular phone has bluetooth or not, let alone a flightmode option. i dropped my w800i today and it bounced about 3 times along the road.(i practically had to run to keep up with it) it only got a small scrape on one corner and is still tight and creak free when using

The creaking on my K750i drives me nuts when I'm sending a text message, it's only just appeared after having the phone since it's release, we'll have to wait and see if the W800i begins to creak after a while

I also got tired of the creaking. I have had my K750 for three months now and it gets worse and worse. I couldn't stand it anymore so I bought a V600. The good thing is that there's no creaking at all. It's a totally different build quality in this phone. It's rock solid! There's not a creaking from it no matter how I treat it! So now my K750 gets some rest in the closet

Before reading here I was not sure about k750, but the build quality are a problem indeed to me. So I must ask if there is creaking in w800 too.

@CyberVisitor how else is v600 software and menuwise? does it have the same speed?

Ask the W800i owners in 3 months time.
Mine has only just started squeeking since I've had it, which is over 3 months.

So far , I've only heard my K750i creaks
twice now only when I'm playing mp3's
and it's too loud and deafening.

i hadb my k750 for 2/3 months and it was creak free to be honest my k700 did creak a bit but it never really bothered me.

anyway back to the discussion about activities menu. people seemed to be mistaking it with the up shortcut which leads to a shortcuts menu on w800 or v600 not activities menu. granted alot of the features are the same but on the k750 you can do this anytime when using the phone not only on the standby screen. The activities menu also has "new events" eg unread txts and missed calls which you can check without exiting whatever else you are doing and returning to standby screen. Finally the activities menu also has all your bookmarks listed meaning it is easier to go straught to whatever pages you have bookmarked.

just a few differences i thought worthy of mentioning
