Carlsberg your getting right to what i have been trying to get across.
I use my P900 loads and like the touch screen
(If PSP had a touchscreen EVERYTHING WOULD BE OVER!!!)
how many people use all those functions on their P9XX phone REALLY?
The NEW fones are just updates over the old fones. Really another £500 for maybe wifi and 2mms of screen? NOT ME BRO
The PSP is basically a bloody fantastic screen with WIFI and Great gaming built in + movies and a really good processor.
Add a detachable keyboard and browser and you practically have a mini laptop.
No doubt this is going to happen and people will bring put apps for it , i.e.Word processor etc etc.
4 Gig memory cards are coming out soon so it will be like having mini hard drives think of the possibilties
1 gig hard drives are now only £50
This is so much cheaper and you get so much more and who knows how much more your gonna get.
P9XX is a niche product it does not sell in HUGE amounts, PSP is going to sell in the 100s of MILLIONS , Its the FASTEST SELLING CONSOLE EVER!
all those developers will be falling over themselves to make apps for it + all the homebrewers/hackers etc how long before Linux or Windows MCE is running on it or it can run word or excel files.
i have never seen a product that is already attracting so much develper interest as this
There is talk of a Fone module or as you say just get a nice little K750i for phoning and calendar diary etc
I think the P900 series has maybe run its course how much more can they add in and at what price?
I have had P800 and P900 but its simply not worth upgrading to another in the series IMHO, infact im quite tempted to sell my P900 and just use my old 6230 Nokia!

your responses are all so defensive its actually quite funny.
You forget that I am a P900 user for the past 2 and a half years and you also ignore the fact that i am focusing on the media aspects of the PSP over the P900.
You are also ignoring that a lot of what im saying is about the potential of the PSP to develop even more
applications and uses. You are clearly stuck into your blinkered P9XX mindset. Really do you think that Wifi and a slightly better screen is really worth paying out another £500?
If you do your the one who is insane.
If half the apps for the PSP are developed it will become an amazing machine. I think the P900 series is running out of ideas to be honest there is not a huge difference between the P800 and the P910
cosmetic improvement and a little bit more power.
The average user wouldnt probably notice the difference between them in everyday use.
P900 is trying to cram to much into one space, the best thing it has in my opinion is the touch screen
which certainly revolutionised my use of a fone.
handwriting recognition etc.
But that aside its a series of Diminishing returns
pay much more for not a lot more.
The PSP (lets stick to media apps right now) is a whole lot more for a whole lot less

to be honest, i've been able to watch movies since my p800 yonks ago, listen to music and play decent games - for ages.
I mean a device like the psp was always going to come along, but SE smartphone users have had amazing features at their disposal for much longer than psp users...
im not fussed, im keeping my p800 and p910i and if i ever feel the urge to buy a psp i will.... I hate psp users who flash the thing off....

You fan boys make me laugh! I'll tell you what the issue is. For a long time you've been content knowing you've got the flashiest mobile device, that despite its age can still blow people away with the cool stuff it can do. But now you've got competition and your sinking! For the record i own neither but can understand why someone would buy a cheaper phone + a psp

The problem is .. the Pxxx LACKS if used as a business phone. I don;t see how the p900 can help me do business!
Decent games you say? Yes, unfortunately they can be counted on three fingers. Emulation doesnt count.
Sorry to say this, but SE are walking into nokias footsteps.. cosmetics. Sure the p800 was revolutionary when it was released, but the p900, p910 are not. They are just facelifts.

And lets face it, it didn't take much to improve the looks of the p800

Well as a buisness user this is my day, and i tried this with my psp and i ended up with a lackluster wipeout brower wifi where i dont use, and dvds and games which doesnt do me anygood when commuting to work and at my job site.
Get up P910 alarm alerts of all tasks and appointments are displayed without me touching it,
BB push and personal email fowarding sends me all my mails from that night as alerts in the morning letting me know what mail is current.
Create my powerpoint display,....review it on my 910... check my excel file for work and my spreadsheet for quota review
blutooth sync my 910 to DL any info from computer
then have my confrence call % on my line then conncect to that
connect my BT headset
send my co workers, images and files on my 910 via versichat , send file option and FTP transfers
then its time to go
Sync one last time via bt to check chemos;s web site for any latest vids movies
DL them via BT to my Gig card soon to be 2 gig
after shower breakfast done
pick up my 910 bt headset and stereo headset and leave
i have RSS feeds send me latest info sports scores and with text redirect i get all my fav boxing into in the form of MMS which makes audio and images presentation alot better to view
when dirving connected to holder i car, ...and GPS devieve from my delorme reciver (stil got to get a program still undecidein but got the reciever)
get on ferry
watching movie and on last half our editing some word files and pics
check bank info and get on web via opera brower with proxy enhancment
then when im at work connect to the BT to my laptop and control my txt mess and all funcitons using p910 remote. not to mention i control my laptop and when im away using vpn pc remote
for lunch play a nice game of soilder ants with my associates who have synbian phones aswell and 900s and 910s . BB connect
put on my mp3 player to tune out the world and back at it again.
With my psp , .....i was left like playing games watching dvds...switching umds.......although i had osme vids on my gig memory stick...it was too big to be put on my waiste...i was entirely uphauled by the web browser even with the hacks. ..
and overall. noone in buinsess has a psp but there children,.since im a sony fan i have one but ..seriosuly for a daily commute .....for buisness it serves me nothing.. THanks chemos and dark for giving my nice mp4s ......but ....i love my psp for when im on trips ..etc but i used to work for sony and have asssocitets that work for them and by all means , .....the psp is a game machine.....not any replacement for a pda or anything...it just doesnt have the praticality for buisness use .and you try convincing employess that lugging a psp withh make there day prodcutive ,...i bet i can have a ball presenting a 910. Bottom line the psp is the best , portable game machine and my 910 simply has everyting i wanted in a buinsness phone and i had them all.....ipaqs..ben qs.........even sony clies........im not a fan boy but having both of them, theres no way my psp can replace my 910....though for games theres no way my 910 can replace my psp.
