Well, isn't that exactly the same thing that SE did with K750i and W800i? Same phone a couple of accessories and a different music player added. The only difference is that with 6630 music edition you get a bit more accessories bundled.
This Pinolo guy wrote a funny post. You're probably so young that you don't remember what happened in the beginning of camera or music phone era. But I can give you a hint: there has been a couple of music oriented phones years before SE even dreamed of one. I wouldn't like to remind who was the first one on the market selling GSM phone with integrated camera... That's why I consider Pinolo's post a bit hilarious.

Couldnt agree more
But (most)

fans will never admit that for K750 vs W800. They are convinced W800 is way ahead of K750... That really makes me laugh
But as I said I'm happy

fans shoot down 6630 music edition. It demonstrates very well their objectivity...

@orange
I am not that young

eh eh.
I know that the difference between the K750 and the W800 is the same there was between the T68 and t68i (cosmetics...).
But the point I was trying to make is that Nokia seems to be too little innovative in their tech department, compared to other manufacturer (in my previous post I tried to stress the fact that I wasn't talking about Nokia vs

but rather about Nokia vs all other manufacturer). This isn't a criticism towards Nokia itself or Nokia fans...
You are right about the embedded camera in the phone. But tell me about the IDEA of putting a camera in a phone, the screen resolution and screen colors, the size of screens, and so on.
You see, Nokia had an edge because they were among the first to put a FM radio in their phones (among other things, but we are talking about music), they easily could have developed this concept a little further.
Sony has the Walkman brand which it is trying to push and use to gain sales. This is the reason they released an already existing phone, which they knew would have had huge sales, and branded it Walkman, maybe to test market reaction.
The whole point is that I had the feeling that, recently, Nokia is becoming less and less innovative in seeking trends and imposing them on the market. And personally I also can see that more and more people are moving from Nokia towards alternative brands (among which SonyEricsson). I work in a tech company (ISP in Switzerland) and ALL but one or two here own one of the latest

phones. Of course we are not the average users (people working in tech tend to me more sensitive to new technologies), but nevertheless this seems to be a signal.
Then we could argue for ages about "who's the best" but this wasn't my goal.
I still am the first to admit that

has flaws (where is the new Pseries model, and UMTS models??). But the same applies to other companies as well.
Please don't tell me that Nokia didn't copy a successful

model... And they were in such a hurry (rising sales figures of

maybe?) that they didn't even take time to develop a proprer phone but just some SW adjustments to an older model.
This was the original topic of the post and one cannot honestly disagree with the fact that it makes laugh to see the giant trailing...
Cheers

Yep, It doesn't matter what you're trying to say to them, backing with pure facts, they still go arguing about it. They have to have some sort extra filter in their brain to achieve this. It makes it quite senseless to try to say anything to them.
And all the speak about the Nokia losing customers to other vendors, heh. Recent positive warning about Q3 result indicates just the opposite. But again, I think it's the filter in their brain that does the job...

@ pinolo77
Nokia has been copied and has inspired for years and years now, by all manufacturers who have surely made some things better than Nokia did. Nokia's done it too. Fair enough.
I couldnt agree more that the tasteless orange 6630 recalls much of

walkman tasteless orange and would be a "lame" attempt to try and confuse ("lure"?) customers. "Ahey what the heck, between two orange phones I'll pick that one hey." Nokia can use its very strong brand here, while

can't (that's why they tag their phones with "Walkman", because it rings bells in people's mind. But again, I think this is a bit cheating people). The "orange" is chosen by

as a head-turner color and to stand out from the crowd, nothing else: their ultimate goal is to grab people's attention, and potentially give people the opportunity to immediately recognize a walkman phone by its color (see consumer behaviour). But Nokia not only just put a smart end to that, but also benefits from the association orange = music created by

!! Orange color will not be uniquely associated with

and Walkman... too bad for

Maybe they should try yellow. But no, that means waterproof.
Anyway the point remains that with an existing albeit ageing phone you can provide a very competitive alternative to any music phone on the market today. And this also puts down very much this "walkman" logo...
There is as such no 3G music phone out from anyone. 6630 has been selling extremely well, lets see if it will still sell well. Thumbs up to Nokia though for providing the 6630 music edition in silver color!! I'm sure

will follow by providing an "improved" W800 in a different color some day

Ah, but ok, its nearly already out there: K750i.
6630 music edition may make you laugh, but feature-wise, it stands very well -and in some case better- against W800i Music-wise, it has absolutely nothing to envy to W800i.

It's not about the color. It's about using that color in a _music phone_. That color is associated with

walkman's
Any one remember this, the original music phone, equiped with an Fm radio, and guess what, its in that fetching red/orange colour!!!!

If you look at the Nokia Japan,
http://www.nokia.co.jp/index.shtml, you'll see that same color in 6630 aka Vodafone 702NK. It has been available in japan with that color long time already.
