A little off topic but not recently discussed subject...

I love SE for theire innovations so on so forth....

But I have owned a piece of rubbish called the siemens mc60....

However if you care to look closer siemens have a excelent way of letting you choose what language packages together with the most recent update for the software.....(at least for this fone)

The battery wasnt as good as SE but the f/w updates can teach everyone as it should be....

OK, OK,,,

I did have the Simens the longest I have had any other fone mainly because there was no other fone that tickled me the way the K750i did....

But what Im trying to say is that if SE ever read this (which I doubt) then look at it and improve the way f/w upgrades are really the best they could be....

Obviously this is for ilustrations purposes only but even the update is done offline....

I for one wouldnt mind SE updates were processed like that...

good point Leviath.. download the firmware file to the computer, THEN flash. Much more reliable. This is what happens actually, but in the background. If you give the user the choice to redownload the flash file (as it stands you have to manually delete the firmware files from your computer - SE give no instruction on this) they can try again.

It would also mean the update process could be streamlined and simplified.

i couldn't agree more... just like on SPVE200 spartphones wherein you can upgrade rom by yourself...

Yes, One thing I've noticed is that SE & Ericsson have been very good
in integrating phones with computers.

See even the simplest SE phone have built in moderm.

I am just adding on to the point above that, most SE users are so into computers and most are likely to have some programming or technical computer knowledge.

helow peeps.

I agree with what some had said about SE rushing K750i into production. I've had mine for about 5 months now and I really felt like some things are a bit off.

My biggest gripe about it is the camera switch under the camera cover. I don't feel like it was a good idea to make that switch a requirement to activate the camera. Why not just make that cover exactly what it is, JUST A COVER. Why not just make the camera work like most cameras on phones namely command activated.

Ths switch is just another part that has a potential to break and needs replacing just like what happened to my K750i. It's also adds to the cost of the phone.

I also hate the display lens being exposed like that. I go to great lengths to keep mine scratch free. I think it would have been better if it was recessed somewhat.

I also hate the short idle time before the display darkens. It is too inconvenient when I am reading long strings of numbers.

Well other than those 3, I still like my k750i.

I actually find the active lense a must. If you notice, most digital cameras have this feature (opening the lense turns the camera on). It makes taking spontaneous pics a lot easier and quicker.

I wouldn't buy the W900 for the very reason that it DOESN'T have an active lense.

So I guess it's just one of those user preference things.
