Took me four attempts.
Appallingly difficult job this was.
First three failed with 'unable to communicate with device' errors. Didn't seem to want to work via Firefox either. Had to resort to IE6. Yuck.
Anyway, got there eventually.

No I didnt try the recovery mode because it said only use recovery mode if your phone isnt functional so was a bit sceptical of using it in case I screwed it up further because my phone works and turns on and I can use it for calls and things, just some certain things a bit funny and mainly the camera isnt working!

Mate if the camera isnt working and you dont wanna try the recovery mode then send it to SE or get an exchange from where you bought it if you still in time....
I would try the recovery mode but Im not sure it will work at all....

I don't mind trying the recovery mode, as long as it doesn't totally kill the phone! My phone is a few months old now so they wont exchange it and its quite a hassle to send off the phone so I was planning on waiting for the next software and try upgrading with that and see what happens. In the mean time I will also try a master reset as someone suggested elsewhere on the site.
