@BlueQuill: From what I understand, Karma doesn't have anything to do with a God, it's like an unwritten rule...do unto others as you wish to be done unto you (and this came about before the bible was written).
The above principle prevents us falling into the grey area that borders on barbarism.
You should not act out of fear, that's what religion teaches us but out of respect for your fellow human being...even if he's a bum on the street drunk of cheap liquour.

I believe the origin of the word karma is from the hindu religion. Karma is the sum total of our actions, physical and spiritual. It is not similar to fate or destiny, but it does influence fate/destiny.
To believe that one is destined for something, is like walking blindfolded. You know that you are going somewhere, but exactly where, you have no clue.

Your destiny is what you make it. With human free choice you can change your destiny.
Even a peasant can become king. It just needs the right circumstances. When your free choice is pure and in harmony with your higher-self, those circumstances will come into your life when you need them. This is what is meant by "God will provide".

Right circumstances? How do they come about? Right time? Or the right place? Again, how do we know which is the right time or place? A question of luck, fortune, chance, i think ???

sometimes they come and we don't even know it, because we think we want something else.
Luck is a good example of the circumstances I am talking about. Your luck will be better when you are following your chosen destiny. Another sign that you are following your destiny, timing of events will often defy odds to work out in your favour.

when your luck is going wrong, the universe is trying to tell you something....when everything works without effort you are following your destiny...
