ok ... i have had a P910i for nearly 2 months and its great! ... i got it with o2 online 200 ... i payed £50 for the phone and then £30 a month ... if i had waited another month the phone would have been free but i've wanted 1 for sooo long. my aunt has the N70. i have to say i prefer my P910i to the N70 and even the N90 which i have also tried.. i find the P910i more exciting and alot different to a normal phone... and with new applications and games its hard to get bored of and if your getting a 12 month contract you want something thats going to interest you for 12 months? i installed the big ben application today which is cool, specialy the digital clock. it makes the phone look really smart

No! Dun get p910. Wait 4 another 2-3 months, get p990. U'll suffer huge price depreciation in couple of short months if u get p910.

The P910 is already as cheap as it's going to be. By waiting for the P990's release and then buying that at the release price, you'll just pay ridiculously over the odds, and then really get burnt on the depreciation when things settle down. On top of that, you'll have to put up with all the stupid bugs it's bound to have for the first few months.

Get a P910 now, and in a year's time you'll be able to ebay it for more than the P990 will cost as an upgrade.

is it worth waiting?? yea it has 3g and the 2MP camera.... my opinion would be to get the P910i. you could wait for the P990 but its goin to cost a bomb? is it worth spending the extra money for the new features? you could get the P910i for a year and after that year the P990 would have been out a while and would be cheaper. thats what i'm doing

As I said b4, not worth the wait. It's OK saying the 910's not got a 2mp camera, or 3G, or UIQ3.0, but -

SO WHAT!?!?

Look at what it has got!

@dale_jeffs - gutted for you mate.I wanted one for ages, whilst I had a K700i, which was great. I got mine 2 weeks ago, on online 200 as well, and I'm still finding cool sh1t to do with it... I beleive the 2 handsets share the same res camera, and you could actually get decent pics with it, stuff worth printing to a 10*15 photosized print at least. Try doing that with a z600.
Besides, remember these are phones, with added functionality. Not Cameras, PSP's or PDA's that make calls. I reckon the only way anyone could justify spending money on a 990 rather than O2 throwing free ones at you is so you can take your shiny new, 2mp, UIQ 3.0, 3G phone and wave them in 910 owners faces and go 'nyer'.
Everyone I've shown the 910 to has been bowled over by both it's capabilities and looks (i have the keypad removed 0- try finding another handset on the market that looks like that - not even the 990!!)
As usual, the argument is about the kudos of owning the new 'phone, not functionality.
And - Flame.

@andymac183
what do you mean so what?
It means a great deal.
I'm on three for example so 3g phones are my only option.
I'd say stuff the P910 at this stage because you dont want to look like you've got something old.

However if you are business oriented and want a symbian phone, go for the P910, if you dont care about the brand go with an i-Mate and get a pocket pc.

Out of the two, I saw P910 is what you should be using.
But at this stage an N70 is the phone to buy because it'll support more.

Back to the plot....!
The general consensus is the 910 wins. Expected really from and SE forum, glad to see we're all like minded!!

In response to the above- I got my 910 because I needed a new PDA - my old one (journada) has been dropped a lot (pics on request), but I certainly don't need a new phone. But we're all gadget geeks, that's why we orbit this forum.

The only thing I can't understand -
"I'd say stuff the P910 at this stage because you dont want to look like you've got something old."
HOW does a p910i look old? If you take a 3 or 4 year old SE mobile (my old j5 springs to mind), they wouldn't look out of place now, if only for the colour screen. the 910 and the 990 look almost identical, at least to the casual observer, it's only small differences such as the 2nd camera (quite discreet) and different keypad. The only people who are going to look at the 910 and think it's old are mobigeeks who know it isn't a 990. For the other 99.9% of the population, they're looking at a kickass handset!
I think sony are churning out the best smartphones at the mo, I've played with blockia's and just don't like the os/feel of it. The 990 has to be the best 3G around too, and in response (again) to the guy on the 3 network, then yes, of course you're gonna pick the 990 over the 910 - it does all the same stuff, a lickle bit more and is on 3 - woohoo!!
