I've waited for this day since they first introduced the Windows CE Platform, and I was disappointed it wasn't "real" windows

I got slightly excited about the prospect of installing Windows 95 on a pocketpc (possible believe it or not), but this is just SO much better

Here's some specs:

Intel Celeron 900mhz
40 GB hard drive
7 inch WGA screen
Weighs 779g
Bluetooth

Dual mode - like many media centre pc's it can be run as a pure multimedia unit (without needing to boot windows) or in full Tablet PC mode if wanting windows functions, word etc etc.

I've just put a 160gb SATA drive in my vaio laptop and so far haven't seen any other laptop with that much so I'm impressed if this UMPC comes with that as standard

I feel I'm really going to have to look at these devices seriously, I was so tempted to get a tablet pc when I sold my jasjar

The first UMPC's start shipping in April, for $899, with 256MB RAM, 40GB HDD and a 1Ghz Via chip.

Preorders are open.

Both the Samsung Q1 and the TabletKiosk eoV7110 are available now in the market. Here is a mini review of the TabletKiosk.

Some of you know that I recently purchased the Sony Vaio VGN-U8G (see my thread here), it is a UMPC (but it goesent run Microsofts Oragami software though, However Sony is now offering the touch pack software for an extra $99). Here are some comparison pics between the Samsung Q1 and the Sony U8G, the laptop is the 11.3 inch vaio.

As you can see the The Samsung Q1 is slightly larger (also $600 Cheaper ). Cant wait to get my hands on one.
