didnt someone take apart the m600 and noticed that they left room in it for a camera? That would be the perfect phoone if it had a nice 3.2 megapixel camera in it.

@goldenface
I read somewhere that the K series will now become the Cybershot series. Or a least the numbers above the K800 will be, i.e. K900, K950 etc.

@shaliron.
I think it will too. I think any new slider though will have a new designation.
Also, I think the 30fps video in the W900i doesn't really belong in that 'music' handset, what with
building dedicated music and imaging handsets.
I am guessing that the 30fps video will eventually be introduced in to a higher end Cybershot handset.
p.s I posted this over on se-nse incase anyone thinks I am copying

We all know that this QCIF video is really so ancient.. The Nokia 6233 what is positioned lower has VGA video at 15 FPS (approx 14 MB/min -- 1.8 Mbps). And what is mroe important it's already on the shelves!

A guy a the mobile-review forums is speculating that Sony Ericsson will use the newly acquired Konica Minolta technology of folded optics, which would let compact devices (mobile phones) to have optical zoom.

Hi All! I know that it's quite early to talk about the successor of a phone what is even not on the market. But I've heared some really interesting rumor about the second CyberShot model. I just want some real insider to comment it.
As you may know Sony has partially overtaken the Camera business from Konica-Minolta. Konica-Minolta used to have the first ultra compact in-body folded optics zooming lens system (see picture) in the Dimage X series. The very last model, known as Dimage X1 is optically stabilized. I've heard from some non-trusted source that Sony Ericsson is willing to introduce the folded optics technology in the upcoming flagship CyberShot phone to ensure 3x optical zoom along with CCD sensor in and extremely compact size. One should also take it into account that Konica-Minolta Dimage X1 with the optically stabilized folded zooming lens system is only 19.5 mm thick and has 95 x 68 mm dimensions. (The complete lens system including the CCD sensor and shifting mechanics is less than 15 x 20 x 60 mm). Due to the strange coincidence that rumors might be true. What actually means a renaissance in digital imaging.
Interesting stuff!

nah, id still prefer my point and shoot camera any day... but the day when we will no longer need point and shoot devices is nearing, that much i can tell you... besides, the cybershot series dont take that good an image as compared to competing digital cameras from canon or nikon... (i.e. there is no way a sony t5 can beat a canon a610). peace out.

On the contrary, while it may not yet take a picture as good a dedicated camera, they are certainly good enough for people not able to cast an overtly critical eye on photographs - myself included.
