From what I've heard the K800/k790 has the same music player and function, it just doesn't say 'walkman' on it.

tbh that would be good for me - i'd rather just put 'walkman' theme on it - like what i've done with my v600i - looks rather nice actually...shame no expansion slot - then it would be THE ultimate phone

No big deal. Just buy a HPM-70 headset or one of these http://www.doml.com/productde[....]11&model=SE_W810&modeln=W810i. Then you're good to go.

Well took the phone back to vodafone before the first 14 days had come up told them that there network was crap and that the handset was full of faults because of the software had put on it. so ended the 18 months contract plus got the 30 pound back (cost of handset) plus never paid for the eleven days of calls,RESULT.

So then l went to the carphone warehouse and got w810 sony software 12 month contract x2 mins and text 30 pounds a month with free handset and none of the crap vodafone software and the differnce, well why for the love of all things good done mobile phone network have to put shit software on a good phone?

I believe SE is including the old Walkman player 1.0 (the one found on W800 up to W810/W300) in the K790/K800 since the new Walkman phones to come out in the future will have the newer Walkman player 2.0 application, like the one found on W950.

kristianm, do you have anything to back this claim up?

To be honest, everything I have read in reviews and such has been contrary to your previous statement - saying that the K800i music player is the very latest version, only just not branded "W".

The screen is somehow washout but you can still see it if you are in direct sunlight (sun above you).

I'm not claiming what I said is fact, that's why I said "I believe . . .".

But I base it on mobile-review's statement:

Quote:
The media player obtained support for AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ files, besides the standard MP3. In our sample the interface copied Sony Ericsson W800i, but it is to be repainted from orange into black with Walkman logo permanently removed. The player is rather good, but number of additional functions as compared to Sony Ericsson W950i seems to be quite limited.

The phone is equipped with an MP3 player that is identical to the players used in all other Walkman models.

These two are the only K800 previews that I know of. Could you post other K800 review sites that you speak of contradicts my statement?
