you can't change the imei number , it is stored in otp (one-time programmable) memory. You cannot reprogram an OTP chip.

the method you linked to uses a program to make SEUS think the phone has a certain imei number. So you can't change the imei but you can make seus think you have the imei of another phone. SEUS will then flash update your phone with whatever firmware is associated with the imei you are using. So if you use your mates imei, then you will get his firmware version from seus, but when you have finished flashing, your phone still has it's original imei number (it never changed).

There is no way to actually change your imei number.

in conclusion: just read thouroghly original thread
IMEI is not changed in fact

About changing itself: you can't put new IMEI without changing flash memory chip. Even if you change it in GDFS, any service tool will show you original one.

Don't use different online IMEI checkers since they show some info but not truth.

It's the OTP chip you have to change. But yes, you can change imei in gdfs to "unlock" the phone, but you can only change the data in the OTP chip by soldering on a whole new OTP chip and programming it from scratch.

SE shares some of their hardware with motorola - so I guess it's possible that imei's originally intended for motorola get used on SE handsets instead. If it said Nokia I might be worried!!

To get a phone blacklisted and claim successfully on an insurance policy the phone needs to be reported to police as lost/stolen. Give it back to your friend and get him/her to hand it in to the police. If the police or an insurance investigator get wind of the fact you have the phone and are trying to get it working, you may be charged with insurance fraud and if convicted, YOU will be blacklisted from getting insurance which will affect your ability to own a car, house or business in the future.

Just stick with the replacment phone and forget about the other one.

the thing is, i bought the w800i( i liked the black case of k750, but w800 comes with a 512 memory) had to replace the main board (through a certified dealer) cuz my phone was not fully charging (ill i got was 93%)...but after i found out that i has the k750 board i returned it back and demanded a w800 board in my phone (i told them it feels like driving a bmw with a toyota engine) i should be getting it today, otherwise, im getting a new phone

The K750I & W800 boards are the same, its only the firmware there flashed with thats different.
