i recentley lost the smallest pair of rubber ends for my hpm70 and am using ones that are too big for my earholes , maybe this is making the sound too amplified or not letting enough vibration , i clean my ears about twice a week and wash them everyday , i like hpm70 they are perfect , but maybe i just need another pair of the smallest ear bud rubber things

Make sure your ears (and ear-canals) are clean and DRY when you use in-ear buds like the HPM-70's, or you could cause an ear infection.

My HPM-70's (and the Sony EX-71's I've replaced them with) have never caused me any pain, no matter how long I've worn them (max was like, 10 hours one day).

@Jack(bunch of "7's")

Actually to get a better seal, you should slightly moisten the plugs if they are silicone as this will assure a better fit. Etymotic, and Ultimate Ears both recommend this as it will help great a sound proof seal.

After reading all this, it seems that jack77777, that you seem to be suffering from some hearing loss. I mean, if your ears are hurting after you listen to music, and you can't hear some sounds, then there's something wrong. The HMP-70s are pretty good at isolating sound, so the only reason seems to be you turning up your volume too loud. This should be a scary thing for you (you're still in school right?).

Man... its Awesome...u know wot guyz, i took my HMP to work the other day. I wanted to enjoy some music from my w800i while working. But i knew if i put both the earphones i won't hear the office phone on my desk ringing. So i decided to put just the RIGHT earphone so that i would be able to hear the phone call on the other ear. About half and hour later, i heard a phone ringing very faintly and i thought, it might be my colleague's phone on the adjacent desk. But i soon realised that all my co-workers were staring at me. I knew something was wrong. Then i figured it all out. Incidentally, my office phone was placed on the RIGHT side of the desk and it had been ringing for ages. So from that day on, I have never taken my HMP along to work .

its all down to the level of volume that you put on.. i spend 3 hours, 5 days a week in a comfortable volume for my ear.. that should be no problem at all..

Is it settled then that jack77777 has a hearing problem and that for the most part we are all safe?
