An update, I just got myself a P990 (prototype SP2 with organizer R3A04).
SMan reports 24% free memory after a heap compress giving me 15284KB free (~16MB). I have been told that P990 will be delayed in Malaysia...

Droll and I are facing problems with the developer signed certificate. We requested a developer certificate (which ties down the install to our IMEI and is only valid for 6 months) with full capabilities and when we install SMan with the appropriate cert/signed .SIS installer. We were still unable to do a "Forced Endtask" and to got a permission error when wanting to hook SMan to a hotkey. Droll is investigating this as well as posting it in the UIQ and SE fdeveloper forums.
Also, after re-reading the freeware signed thingy that cellmania is doing, we are under the impression that their ACS will not give us full access to the hardware, so the freeware signed that cellmania is offering may not allow SMan to run properly. This is what we gathered from the information posted at
www.symbiansigned.com freeware page.

An update...
Droll has solved the DevCert problem and we are able to install and run all the "protected" functions that would not work with an unsigned application. So far, the "Force Endtask" and hotkey has been implemented in SMan. Also, droll has informed me that Verisign ACS ID cert is about USD 350 for 10 signing events (one event signs one SIS file) but the cert is only valid for ONE year and all unused signing will be wasted. Don't know if getting this is a good idea.
Before anybody ask me for a copy of SMan, please be aware that my devcert is tied to my P990 IMEI (and Droll has a devcert for his M600) and they only last for 6 months. So I am unable to release this version... yet!
Right now, we are focusing on getting a few other UI issues out and after than it's basically porting from SMan 1.5 to the UIQ3 version.

Not too sure yet, we are working on the File Manager module now. The problem we have is that every new option we implement, we will need to test it as some of the features will not work when unsigned.
What I do know is that once we have a basic functional file manager working, we will gray out all the options that need to be signed and release that version for users to beta test and provide feedback. Once that has been done, we will get the "all features" version signed and release that for everyone to us. That is the current plan and may be changed as we go along.
Please understand we take pride in our work and only want a quality release.

Droll is working on the File Manager module now, the Task Manager is basically there, we just need to add in a few more features here and there (exclude flush is still missing).
We are still sorting out the UI interface. Our problem is trying to do this the UIQ3 recommended way so that SMan works in the different profiles (Stylus, Keypad in FC and FO modes). We just want to do things "the right way (tm)". :mrgreen:
There is a possibility that we will release SMan unsigned where we will gray out the "This Needs To Be Signed Before You Can Use It" (aka TNTBSBYCUI) features and wait for user feedback before we get the application signed. Once we are there, we will worry about how SMan will be signed.

@ajack
Thanks mate for your reply. In case you need an in-depth testing I will be happy to go for it!
I've been very satisfied with your software in my P900, and thats why I gave a small support in the past, and I recommend other users to do the same.
