Hi just an update!

I'd decided to give him the benefit of the doubt until now. I got a text from him, which I had reason to believe was delayed, and after looking at sent message time it was sent 7 minutes earlier. So, I know now that even if it's delayed, it will say the time it was sent! Therefore, how can I account for this incident where the text was supposedly delayed for two minutes, yet the sent time does not show this?! It was meant to be sent at 22:08, I got it at 22:10, and the sent time said 22:10.

I know that a poster earlier said that the same very thing had happened to him....he had sent it an hour earlier and when it arrived it said he had sent it when it arrived. I just don't know what to think now

I'm 21 this month, and my bf is 20. I hope you're right, I really do! It's really hard to act normal around your bf though when you're convinced (rightly so or not) that he is covering something up.

ok so ur not that young, i'm 20 so you'll be older than me...
just seems weird like I guess i'm too laid back to even read anything into it.

If it were me i probably wouldn't even have noticed, i would have been " no, i'm rite hear talking to you silly"

so the story of events from ur perspective as i see it so far are.

- his status gets set to away
- he signs on msn and says hello
- after (insert time period here) you then recieve a text saying "are you going to bed without me"
- You find this odd

and then what? did you speak on msn or leave in a huff?

At the time I was a little suspicious but gave him the benefit of the doubt. It was only later laying in bed that my head starting going overtime and I looked at the message details, which contradicted what he had said. I then came on here the next day to work out if this contradiction could be explained by some other means than what I feared.

if you think about it, what would the circumstances have to be with some one else for him to send that text? ("gon to bed with out me?" was that all it said, what was the full message)

its not going to be someone else at his house, and if it were someone else then he would have sent it when he found out they were offline, which would be the same time as when you were offline.
so the timing would have been the same no matter who it were for.

i recon the text was for you

Yea I guess so. Although, it makes more sense for him to sat at his computer, carried on talking to me, to then realise his bit on the side had disappeared, and then text her (the whole everyone appearing offline could have been made up). I'm hoping I've just got an overractive imagination, it's just so suss that a discrepency with sent times happens at that very moment.

The text message said "gone to bed without me, lol?" which I personally wouldn't send to a friend. So just say I'm right and he did send it to me by accident I wouldn't be very impressed. To me it reads a bit flirty!

have you noticed any other suss activity?

you know cos u were on line, did you see him disappear offline and then reappear online, cos if you did it would tie in with what he said, and that would mean the rest of his story is probably true,

do u think he is more attractive than you? i only ask because this could be a cause of the sussipcious casuse by low self esteem (check me out being a phyciatrist)

ps. i take it u've got just as crappy office job as me

He never actually claimed to sign off...just shut the window and reopened it.

I've never really compared his attractiveness to mine, lol! I do sometimes think that it is just a matter of time before he meets someone better than me, especially as I can be hard work! Whether this is justified by his behaviour, or it's just part of me I will never really know.

It depends really what you call suss activity...something that seems suss to me probably isn't. I've "noticed" that he keeps his phone on silent when I'm around but that might be because there have been a few incidents before when I've made a big deal over text messages. Or there could be some other explanation. Also he has been a bit distant recently, and making less of an effort (according to me) to see me. This could be because he is up to no good or it could be a by-product of my possessiveness and suspiciousness. I really don't know. We have also been long distance for last 3 months, which doesn't help with my insecurities.

He's a bit of a liar to (I think he does this to avoid confrontation) which doesn't help me trust him at all over anything!
