its still a LED though, and LEds got tens of thousands of usage time
still using it for a purpose, other than what is designed for, would be detrimental to it, for sure...

aint ther a program to use the white light insted of then red light?
In actual fact, (Ohhh I sound like a nerd now!) LOL No Really, the white light on a K800i cannot be constant for use as a torch. A very high current has to build up within 2 capasitors inside the phone and discharge 1,000's of volt's at low amps across a zeon gas filled glass tube. This produces the very bright flash which cannot be maintained due to charge time and battery power supply.

it's just the same with usual camera xenon flash....
in a decade ago, before digicam was made to public,
the old mechanical camera need a delay of about 5-10 sec each photo capture because the capacitor is recharging. it's true that it may contain thousand volt cause i've accidentally electrocute by a xenon flash before. wow... its really like being stroke by a 220v electricity socket for a sec.
so i got to agree with him, xenon flash cannot be turned on continuously.
even if it's possible, it would only last for a matter of minutes.
