You're right about the fact that it's W-thing, not a K-thing ... If we compare it to K800i. BUT ... when SE gives the W800i (which was a great move), K750i and even the newer version W810i!! that 2-megapixel camera WITH autofocus, I think SE should also put the same camera in the W850i.

each model has been better than the last, sony seems to have messed up with this w850. i mean i dont expect k800 pictures.. but i expect the SAME or better than w810 pics.
will a firmware update enable better pics? i understand the exposure is controlled by the software not hardware?

You're totally right. It's like giving us something to get used to and then take it away. The phone would be SOOOOO great with autofocus!!!

Have you tried any photo editing software for you to fix any photos you want to be printed. I use Picasa, it's free software from Google so it beats paying £60 for Photoshop.

im with with image manipulation. but the artifacts and jpg compression just messes up most pics.
i hope they fix this in a firmware update.

Ya I agree, the camera of W850i Sucks!!
previously i use K750i and W900i. the camera is great, especially the W900i. i sold away my W900i, to get W850i.
I love Music more than Camera, so it's nothing affect on me.

Well,all i can say is the the W850i camera is better than the one on my samsung.I have used it under differing conditions at work and have no real complaints.And i agree,Picasa is great;use it for my fujipix images.
Phone cameras will always have limitations.

I agree! I said a couple of months ago in the SA thread that the pics are almost VGA quality, also I think that screen is to good for that camera and just makes the pics worst.
