the walkman craze will die down just like the razr. Moto fortune has plummeted and SE will follow the same 6 months down the road if it continue to come out with the same walkman clones.

I think the walkman brand has more life left.

phones will always have demand as long as people want good mp3 players as their phones. SE is doing much better than the competition in terms of mobile music; look at Nokia. Their approach is not very focused is it?

Putting a good mp3 player in phone is not difficult at all. Others have already caught up with SE in aspect but SE is still lag behind others in areas like video rec and tv-out, wifi, web, screen, connectivity, gps, standard acc (3.5mm jack/mini-usb) and of course a viable smartphone platform.

Sour Grapes!
None of the others have caught up with

At this time back in 2005 they were all trumpeting their respective music-phone solutions, Nokia was ready with its attempt, Moto had the ROKR etc and they were all ready for the music-phone battle.
There is a good reason why

players came out on top and that is because only

was wise enough to come through with good marketing and building up a comprehensive range of players.
For the others its now too little, too late as

has captured the youth market and will have it for some time to come.

The topic reads 'Nokia toppled as UK no 1 by Sony Ericsson' and nokia fans find that a bitter pill to swallow. Why? For far too long they have been looking at SE as a small company that poses no threat whatsoever. Well, the tide is turning and turning fast. No wonder some of them come up with excuses and reason to runaway from the real issue here. Give credit where it is due.

The ROKR was a big flop here. It took longer than a snail traveling from San Fransisco to New York, to get your music on it.
