which file from the MP3GAIN site did you download and how do you install it on your W950i? thanks, how much of a difference does this really make?

id say another reason this phone cannot go loud is because the eqaulizer cannot be adjusted by us in anyway

MP3Gain is a windows/PC application which will edit the .mp3 file and increase volume and other things if required.
it does NOT go on the phone. You need to send the .mp3 file to the PC with MP3gain , alter it and then send the .mp3 file back to the phone.

Ok let's make things simple:
Download from this page: http://mp3gain.sourceforge.net/download.php
and then download this file:

Then install the program and click the icon "add folder". Find the folder which contains your cd or cds and click ok. Before you modify the gain put the target "normal" volume at 98 and then click the icon "Track Gain".
That's all..

I personally do that in my W950i and I don't have to transfer files all the time..

So the MSI FS310 are quite expensive then since you have to get a separate headset.

Could anyone of you write a short review where you test:

* MSI FS310 + different headsets
* HPM-82
* HBH-DS709 or what the productname is

I think that would benefit many of us users that are considering going A2DP.

@prudent
I own the HPM-82 but not the HBH-DS970. I've read elsewhere that HBH-DS970 sound quality is supposed to be better than HPM-82.

There are earphones included with the MSI FS310 but they are worse than the Sonys.

Therefore I'd recommend you only spend your money on the MSI FS310
- if you are not happy with the HPM-82 and/or HBH-DS970.
- if you already own or are willing to buy better quality headphones than the HPM-82 / HBH-DS970 to take full advantage of the FS310's sound quality.

Update concerning the MSI FS310:
Recently I discovered a strange flaw with the headset: sometimes after connecting via bluetooth to my w950i the FS310's treble sounds somewhat metallic / tinny (like a bluetooth v1.x headset). Only after I disconnect and reconnect bluetooth audio quality is perfect again.

I have no clue what could be the cause of this, maybe it's related to this problem:

I have a Vodafone w950i with firmware R9DA001 in the UK. I'm not sure if this is just me having sensitive ears but I can only play MP3s/Radio at about 75% volume max, before it starts to get uncomfortable.. More than enough for me

P.S This is with stock earphones

@ Andy574

Srange...This is an O2 branded W950i (check http://uiq3.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/CDA/W950i)

Does anybody with an O2 branded phone agrees with Andy?
Can you imagine everyone changing CDAs to O2.. Seunlock and Coxy will do overtime then..

Probably you have too sensitive ears my friend, I cannot figure out anything else happening..! What earphones is O2 giving with the phone?..
