@boba- that's my problem right there. I have a feeling that the mechanism is going to fall apart after continuous rigorous use. I just don't trust it either.

i'd seriously recommend the n95. its almost incomparable to 810.
u get built in tv tuner, 5 mp, and lots more.
go for it..

OK, i agree i am not found of K800/810, but this is seriously unfair to it. The only nokia i'd compare it with is the 6300.

You read my mind, @QVGA. I am currently trying to decide between the K810 and the 6300. The latter has an advantage because it's been out for a while now whereas the former is not even on sale yet over here. But yeah, I think any comparison should be done between these two. The N95 is in a different category, wouldn't be fair to compare, as you've said.
